A 32-year-old Newburgh man died yesterday in a crash on I-84 in the town of Montgomery.
On September 10, 2019 at approximately 6:30 p.m., State Police Montgomery responded to the accident. Preliminary investigation revealed that a black 2008 Chevrolet pick-up truck was traveling in the passing lane behind a tractor trailer and another uninvolved vehicle. The pick-up truck entered the right lane and passed the tractor trailer and the other vehicle. The operator of the pick-up truck attempted to return to the passing lane when he struck a tractor trailer in the right lane and lost control. The pick-up truck rolled over several times traveling approximately 150 yards and ejected the operator.
The operator of the pick-up truck, Thomas E. Hallahan, age 32 of Newburgh, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
