The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a flash flood watch for our area, effective from 8 p.m. tonight until 2 p.m. tomorrow.
According to the NWS:
Showers with localized areas of heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms will develop across the watch area this evening, continuing into Saturday morning. Some of the rainfall may be heavy enough to cause flooding along rivers, streams, and low-lying poor drainage areas.
Those with interests in low-lying or flood prone areas should continue to monitor the latest forecasts.
Affected communities for this warning range from Saratoga to the Hudson Valley, and east into Massachusetts. The thunderstorms causing the warning cover a much larger area across the eastern U.S., but the times and severity vary.
