A woman died yesterday after falling from a horse on a family farm in the town of Dover, according to State Police.
Police responded at approximately 10:45 a.m. yesterday morning to a report of a fall from a horse at a farm on Byrds Hill Road. Investigation determined the horse reared for an unknown reason, and fell on top of the rider, Samantha Calzone, 23, of Greenwich, CT. Samantha was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Northern Dutchess Paramedics and the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office also responded to the scene.
