The New York State Police in Monroe and Haverstraw responded to a two-car fatal crash at 11 p.m. on Friday, May 3 on State Route 6 in the town of Woodbury. Investigation revealed that a 2007 Dodge Caliber was traveling west on State Route 6 crossed over into the eastbound lane. A 2016 Nissan Titan was traveling east and moved into the opposite lane to avoid the Dodge. The Dodge Caliber then corrected itself moving back into the westbound lane striking the Nissan Titan.
The only two occupants of the Dodge Caliber, Jennifer Haines, 37, of Beacon, and Giosue Falanga, 29, Middletown, were pronounced deceased at the scene. The four occupants of the Nissan Titan were transported to nearby hospitals with non-lift-threatening injuries.
