Robert Burhans, of Woodstock, received a $1 million check this morning at the Kingston Stewart’s Shoppe on Broadway where he bought a Mega Millions lottery ticket during a unplanned stop for soda.
The ticket was for the July 10 game. The ticket matched all five numbers, but not the Mega Ball number. That would have been good for over $300 million.
Burhans’ random stop for soda recalls another recent lottery winner, Yvette Moscatello, who purchased a winning “Win-for-Life” ticket in February at a Stewart’s in Modena “on a whim.”
