As day two of the search draws to a close, police still haven’t located a man who apparently went missing while kayaking on the icy cold Wallkill River.
Yesterday afternoon at approximately 3:15 p.m., Ulster County 911 received a call for an overturned kayak in the Wallkill River in Rifton, in the town of Esopus near Rt. 213. State police have identified a male subject who is currently missing and believed to be the missing kayaker. The name has not been released.
The search lasted until 8 p.m. yesterday evening. Efforts are still underway to locate the missing kayaker.
