On July 14th, the New Paltz Police Department responded to North Front Street for a hit-and-run car vs. pedestrian automobile accident. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered that the driver of the vehicle had fled the scene and the pedestrian had sustained lower leg injuries that required hospitalization.
Officers and detectives began investigating the accident and were able to identify the vehicle and driver. On July 18th, 2024, Todd A. Taliaferro was arrested and charged with Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Automobile accident. He was released with an appearance ticket to return to the Town of New Paltz court.
