Mum Festival weekend in Saugerties begins with the high school’s annual Mum Bowl on Saturday, October 5. The Saugerties High School football team will play Washingtonville at 3 p.m. Half-time festivities include the crowning of the 2013 Mum Queen and her court.
The 45th annual Mum Festival is slated for the next day, Sunday, October 6 from 12 noon to 5 p.m. at Seamon Park in Saugerties. (The rain date is Sunday, October 13.) The free event features the Mum Queen and her court presented with flowers courtesy of the Saugerties Society of Little Gardens, live music, craft vendors, Campfire Girls exhibits, wildlife shows, martial arts demos and refreshments, along with thousands of mums enlivening Seamon Park, to remain on view throughout the fall.
