An unidentified teenager was rendered unconscious by an electric shock on Aug. 20 after grabbing a handheld pool heater while in a “large tank of water” in the town of Rochester, according to police.
At approximately 8:15 p.m., state police in Ellenville responded to Ridgeview Road and found the victim unconscious. Emergency medical personnel performed life-saving measures at the scene and transported the victim to Westchester Medical Center. Police did not indicate the victim’s condition and said an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
