The intersection of Broadway and Thomas Street was the site of the city’s latest vehicular accident, as a Kingston teenager fractured his wrist after his motorized scooter collided with an SUV, city police reported.
The collision took place at approximately 1:25pm on Friday, April 25. Authorities stated that 16-year-old Jamir Robinson-Hall was riding his scooter on the sidewalk heading downtown when he left the sidewalk and struck a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban. The SUV, driven by 73-year-old Kingston resident David Press, had just turned right from Broadway onto Thomas Street.
Police issued Robinson-Hall citations for entering the roadway unsafely and for operating the scooter on the sidewalk. He was taken to HealthAlliance Hospital, where he was treated for his injury. Press was not injured.
