It took a little over two years, but now the bar/restaurant formerly known as The Anchor is finally opening its doors again with new proprietors, now dubbed Nightswim Kingston. Like most of the new service industry businesses that have opened in Kingston over the last couple years, Nightswim has city roots – its new owners run a neighborhood bar in über-trendy Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Nightswim’s social media account promises “the iconic spirit of the iconic neighborhood Anchor bar” will live on. Sneak peeks show bold new artsy decor, but the environs should still be familiar to past Anchor patrons (or The Basement patrons, depending on how long you’ve been a local). Expect a fun, casual and cultured atmosphere that’s laid back and super-social.
