This Saturday, Poughkeepsie will be dressed in color and tradition as the Hapag Bistro hosts the Filipiniana Cultural Fashion Show at the First Congregational Church United Church of Christ, from 4:30pm to 7:30pm. It’s a breathtaking blend of fabric and heritage, where fashion meets culture in a vibrant showcase.
The event features a special performance by Kinding Sindaw, a renowned off-Broadway performance group, known for their dynamic cultural presentations. Adding to the allure is Iris Viacrusis, a multifaceted fashion designer with roots in Olongapo City, Philippines. Iris, a recipient of the Philippines Science High Scholarship, further honed her skills in business administration and fashion design in LA and Paris. As the owner of Iris Gil Designs, she specializes in Filipino Styles and Hawaiian attire for hula performers and pageants, promising a display of unique designs that weave together traditional Filipino aesthetics and contemporary fashion. This event offers a glimpse into the rich tapestry of Filipino culture, embodied in its fashion and artistry.
