Kingston Stockade FC remain atop the National Premier Soccer League’s (NPSL) North Atlantic Conference Division after a 1-1 tie at Hartford City on Saturday, June 12. With the draw, Kingston held on to the Wooden Shoe, a trophy created by the Dutch Guard and Agents of Hale supporters groups.
The two teams were locked in a scoreless draw in the first half before Stockade drew first blood in the 62nd minute when Richard Morris capitalized on a Hartford turnover, his second goal in as many games. In the 84th minute, the home side would catch Kingston keeper Dylan McDermott just off his line for the equalizer. Despite late pushes by both teams, each came away with a point apiece.
Stockade FC has 12 points in six games on the season and is still the only team in the division without a loss. They return home to Dietz Stadium to take on Boston City FC on Saturday, June 19.
