Kingston High School girls’ soccer
Because of Covid-19 protocols, the Kingston High girls’ varsity soccer team hadn’t played a game in two weeks before hosting Warwick in crossover action on Thursday, April 8. Whether it was rust that led to the Wildcats scoring twice in the first five minutes on their way to a 4-0 win is anyone’s guess. But the Tigers never recovered.
The game, played at M. Clifford Miller Middle School, saw Carly Slaybaugh open the scoring for Warwick, with Alissa Madura doubling the visitors’ lead off an assist from Kristen Desrats. Desrats scored a goal of her own before the half, and Madura slammed the door shut in the second half.
With the loss, Kingston dropped to 3-4-1 overall, with a busy week ahead to close out their Fall 2 season.
