Three candidates will compete for two Woodstock Town Board seats in the June 22 Democratic Primary, while town supervisor, highway superintendent, town justice and the county legislature seats will face no opposition.
With the deadline to file petitions for party nomination having passed, the following candidates will be on the Primary ballot:
Maria-Elena Conte, Howard Harris and Bennet Ratcliff will compete for two Town Board seats being vacated by Richard Heppner and Lorin Rose, who are not seeking re-election.
Acting Highway Superintendent Scott A. Bonestell is running unopposed for the Democratic nomination as is Supervisor Bill McKenna and Justice Richard J. Husted. Ulster County Legislature Majority Leader Jonathan Heppner, whose district includes Woodstock and part of Hurley, is unopposed for the Democratic nomination.
The Woodstock Republicans hold a caucus later in the year, though they have not for the past several elections due to a lack of candidates.
Full candidate profiles will be published at a later date.
