A man is in Health Alliance Hospital in Kingston recovering from a stab wound to his stomach, which occurred at 28 McDonald St. residence early Friday morning.
Saugerties police charged three individuals with first-degree gang assault I, a class B felony and fourth-degree criminal mischief, a class A misdemeanor.
They are (left to right in above photo):
- Angel J. Stokes, age 16, of 156 West Bridge Street Village of Saugerties
- Thomas D. Murray, age 17, of 156 West Bridge Street Village of Saugerties
- Shaquan E. Stokes, age 18, of 156 West Bridge Street Village of Saugerties
According to witnesses, the victim and the three individuals had gotten into an argument previously and it came to a head early Friday when a brick was thrown through the window at the McDonald St. house at 2:16 a.m.
A 20-year-old male, identified by several neighbors and a friend as Darrian Greene, went outside to investigate. Upon exiting the apartment, he was assaulted by at least three persons and stabbed multiple times in the torso.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics from DIAZ Ambulance and transported to the Health Alliance Hospital – Broadway Campus where he underwent emergency surgery for injuries to his spleen, stomach and intestines. The victim is currently admitted to the ICU and listed in stable condition.
Saugerties Police are continuing their investigation and additional charges and arrests are pending.
