Town Board
Bruno has proven himself
I am taking this time to ask the residents of Saugerties to reelect Jimmy Bruno. I have known Jimmy for over 15 years. He has proven over and over again to be a kind, caring individual who is truly dedicated to the town of Saugerties and its residents. I believe Jimmy has a proven record of making decisions that are in the best interest of Saugerties. Please keep Jimmy on the Town Board and vote for Jimmy Bruno.

The best of old and new Saugerties
Hopefully when the smoke clears after the election, Marjorie Block will be on our Town Board and addressing her very special skills to the tasks before us. I certainly hope so.
When I moved here 15 years ago, I knew I was in for a new experience, my kids hadn’t grown up here, my working life was elsewhere – how would I fit? I think all “non-natives” must have that question.
Then I met Marjorie – her family had been here for generations, her contributions to town life were impressive but there was nothing in her manner that suggested that made her better or that I was less interesting to her because different.
In other words she was immediately, almost instinctively, welcoming. Not indiscriminately so, I think now, she was interested in how I might contribute to Saugerties. But the future was to be created not forced to fit a previous model. I believe that is the way she would serve: seeking what would work for all of us.
Thank you for encouraging citizen thoughtfulness about election choices.

Schirmer has specific ideas to improve gov’t
I support Bill Schirmer’s candidacy for the Saugerties Town Board not for his family ties but for his character and his beliefs for how to improve the operation of town government. Bill is a native of Saugerties, a graduate of Marist College and has been associated with Glasco Abstract, a title company, since 1989.
He brings a conservative common sense approach to the budgeting process. In his letters to the editor in the local papers he spells out specifically some of his financial and taxation beliefs, quite refreshing in today’s political generalizations. A vote for Bill will be a vote to improve our town government.

Nobody works harder, cares more than Block
When I first met Marjorie Block a couple of years ago, she was in the middle of a cause to help Saugerties, and it seems that every time I see her that’s what she’s doing. I don’t know of anyone who cares as much about Saugerties, and works as hard for Saugerties, as Marjorie Block does. I’m voting for her for Town Board, and I urge everyone to do the same.

Bruno appreciates continued support
To all the residents of Saugerties, Tuesday Nov. 5 is election day and as in the past, I truly and humbly look forward to your continued support of me to represent all of you as a member of the Saugerties Town Board.
I do not take your faith and confidence in me lightly. I make it a point to make myself available for all Saugerties residents, regardless of their party affiliation, seven days a week and 24 hours per day.
There are times when decisions need to be made that may irritate some of my constituents or make them wonder why myself and my fellow board members voted to do certain things but please know that I put a lot of thought into each vote that I make and I vote for what I feel is right for the residents of Saugerties. Along with this any one is welcomed to call me any time either on my cell phone, 845-399-8577 or at my home 845-246-5010.
Please get out and vote and I pledge to everyone that no matter the outcome of the election I will always make myself available to help any Saugerties resident with any problem or question that they may have.
Thank you and may God Bless America!
James Bruno
