Ruth Marie Youhouse Meyers, born on June 20th, 1925 in Fairfield Connecticut, died at the age of 96 on November 17th, 2021 in Monroe, North Carolina. She attended the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut until her marriage to Ernest Arnold Youhouse (for 73 years until his death).
Together they raised four children: Claudia (Paul) Andreassen of Malden on Hudson, NY, Cynthia Youhouse of Kent, Connecticut (pre-deceased), Cecelia Sciortino of Saugerties and Ernest (Jessica) A. Youhouse, Jr., of Monroe, North Carolina. She lived her last thirty years in Charlotte, North Carolina.
She was fierce and determined in everything she pursued. She has eight grandchildren; Crispin (Eve) Kott of Oakland, California, Morgan (Colin) Almquist of Saugerties, NY, Amanda (Thomas) Rueby of Redondo Beach, California, Ernest A. (Christy) Youhouse III, of Alexandria, Virginia, Iva (Spencer) Terry of Matthews, North Carolina, William (Haley) Youhouse of Lake Wylie, North Carolina, Natalie Sciortino of Stamford, Connecticut and Nicholas Youhouse of Waxhaw, North Carolina.
She has eight great grandchildren, Ian Kott of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Harper Almquist of Saugerties, NY, Marguerite Kott of Oakland, California and Harlow and Mila Rueby of Redondo Beach, California, Tegan and Meyers Terry of Matthews, North Carolina and Parker Youhouse of Lake Wylie, North Carolina.
A memorial service will be held privately.
