Roy Alan Edelman passed away on Friday March 5, 2021 at Staten Island University Hospital, due to Covid-19. He was 55 years old.
Roy was born in White Plains, New York to the late Alice and John Edelman. He graduated from White Plains High School in 1983, and from the University of Massachusetts in 1989 with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management. He worked in Media Sales for most of his professional life.
Roy loved the Mets, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac, die-cast car and firetruck models, and 1970’s sitcoms, especially The Odd Couple. He loved all animals, big and small. He loved to read and had a special interest in 20th century social, popular culture and military American history.
But most of all, he loved his three children. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his beloved JP, Kirstin, and Shea. They survive him as does their mother, his former wife, Patrice O’Neill Edelman, all from Nassau County.
Roy is also survived by his aunt, Libby Edelman, of Rochester, New York; sisters, Susan Edelman (Jon Siegel) of Rochester and Barbara Edelman (Mark Gebbie) of New Paltz, New York, along with several nieces and nephews.
Roy’s funeral will take place at 12:30 PM on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Kerhonkson Synagogue Cemetery on Boice Mill Road in Kerhonkson, New York.
