We are approaching the one-year anniversary of John Baginski’s death. In May, John would have been 81 years old.
During his lifetime, John Baginski was a soldier, an entrepreneur, a motivational speaker, a corrections officer at Sing Sing Prison (admired and respected for his motivation and encouragement toward prisoners), a dog trainer, and the author of Johnny’s Angels.
John was a friend to everyone. He cooked large pots of food for the Gardiner Reformed Church’s monthly supper. He loved to entertain people with stories and jokes.
In the 25 years I knew John, I never saw him angry. Nor did I ever hear him say an unkind word about anyone. His only fault was that he did not know how to say no.
He was dependable, generous, and kind.
I am privileged to have called John Baginski my good friend. He is sorely missed by those of us who loved him.
