Gloria O. Adair

Gloria O. Adair, 90, of New Paltz, New York, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born September 27, 1930 in Saginaw, Michigan she was the daughter of the late Tom and Mabel Ella (Kerr) Ralph, and adoptive father Henry Obuchowski.

On March 26, 1955 in Saginaw, Michigan, Gloria married James R. Adair.

They enjoyed 50 years together in Brooklyn, NY, where Gloria worked in advertising/props and locations, owned with a dear friend an antique store, and worked at Saint Ann’s School. In 1984, they permanently relocated from New York City to New Paltz, where she and Jim established and ran Adair Vineyards of New Paltz, New York until her retirement in 2005.

She was an avid tennis and bridge player and enjoyed with ease the New York Times crossword puzzle. A passionate animal and nature lover, she was also an exceptionally dedicated mother, who expressed confidence and sincere interest in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Jim and Gloria enjoyed travelling the world, including Africa, Costa Rica, Thailand and other exceptional destinations.
