Dorothy Hasenflue, age 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 30, 2018 surrounded by her family and the caring and loving community at the Golden Hill Nursing Home in Kingston. She was born on December 15,1924, in Woodstock, NY, to Arthur (Roe) and Alice (Bodie) Freer. Dorothy lived in Woodstock for the past 73 years. She was a member of the Woodstock Dutch Reformed Church and truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, and spending time with her daughter. She always kept up on the town’s current events and never forgot a loved one’s birthday by always sending a card.
Predeceased by her husband Edward Hasenflue; brothers Stanley (Roe), Francis & Douglas (Freer). Survived by her daughter Alice; a sister in-law Joan (Stan) Pollard, nieces; Tracy (Russell) Oakes, Jenny (Eric) DelGreco, great- nephew Taylor Oakes, great-nieces Abigail Gambino, Amanda & Angelina DelGreco and many cousins and close friends.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at 1:30 pm at the Woodstock Cemetery with Pastor Steve Simon from Binnewater Chapel officiating. The family would like to extend their gratitude to all the staff at the Golden Hill Nursing Home for their attentiveness and loving care. Memorials/Donations may be made in Dorothy’s name to Golden Hill Nursing Home.
