Anthony Joseph Masseo, of Holiday, Florida, passed away on November 17, 2021.

Born on September 28, 1977 in Kingston, New York to Julia Nucci Masseo and Charles Masseo, Anthony was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He was kind, loyal, compassionate, and incredibly funny. Anthony always had a smile on his face and a joke on his lips. He enjoyed life and cherished time with family and friends. He was always there to brighten the lives of others.

In addition to his parents, Anthony is survived by his siblings, Mark Masseo and his wife Bonne of New Paltz, NY, and Maria Masseo of Poughkeepsie, NY, his niece, Kalle, his nephew, Cole, his aunt, Mary Gretten, and her husband Michael of Holiday, Fl, his uncle, Joseph Nucci of Davenport, Fl and his cousins, Michael Nucci of Wichita, KS and Cara Nucci of Highland, NY.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Helen Masseo, and maternal grandparents, Joseph and Mary Nucci.

Anthony attended the New Paltz Schools and graduated from New Paltz High School in 1996 where he wrestled and played football. From a young age, cooking was Anthony’s passion.  During High School, he completed the culinary arts program at Ulster BOCES and went on to continue his culinary studies at SUNY Delhi College in 1998.

After moving to Florida to be near his father, he began his culinary career. Anthony held many culinary positions throughout his life including cook, chef, banquet chef, and assistant manager of the Quality Inn. Anthony was most proud of the time he served as manager of “Anthony’s Gourmet Pizza” for his father on Mile Stretch Road in Holiday, Florida. Anthony was an exceptional chef and truly enjoyed the art of cooking.

Anthony’s other loves were fishing and cheering on the New York Yankees, the New York Giants and the Tampa Bay Lightning. He spent countless hours on the water with friends and family always trying to reel in the best catch of the day.

Anthony’s million dollar smile, sense of humor and affable personality, made him many, many friends throughout his life who will miss him greatly.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Anthony’s name to the St. Vincent de Paul Society C/O St. Vincent de Paul Church 4843 Mile Stretch Rd., Holiday, FL 34690.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church , 34 S Chestnut Street, New Paltz, NY at 11am on Friday, December 10,  2021.  Immediately following there will be a Celebration of Life in the Church Hall.
