Good news for frustrated residents whose travel time has significantly increased due to the multi-week closure of an important section of Wittenberg Road: Tuesday, June 10 is the expected reopening date.
The road has been closed due to heavy construction activity around replacing a large culvert. The closure caused concern among residents for requiring a lengthy detour — 20 minutes of additional travel for some — as well as the potential danger of lengthening response time for emergency personnel.
The culvert is being replaced to ensure proper water drainage in the area and to prevent erosion to infrastructure.
