Thanks to a milder-than-usual winter season, the Kingston School District announced today that unused emergency closing days would be repurposed to extend spring vacation.
Spring recess begins on Monday, Apr. 14 and will now extend to Wednesday, Apr. 23.
This extension still leaves unused snow days on the table, and school officials said those would be used to push Memorial Day weekend recess to five days. Barring any extreme weather events or other emergencies, students would be off Thursday, May 22 through Monday, May 26.
If the school does need to close, those days would first be deducted from the Memorial Day extension and then the spring vacation extension, so pay close attention to those school announcements before booking your hotel for another day or two.
