Councilman Rocco Secreto will resign from the Ulster Town Board on February 28, ending 15 non-consecutive years of service. In a letter announced last week, Secreto called the decision timely and expressed gratitude for contributing to the community.
Serving from 2006 to 2009 and returning in 2014, Secreto was often the board’s lone Democrat, acting as a calming influence during recent disputes. Supervisor James Quigley praised his contributions, highlighting the value of their debates.
A 1973 Kingston High School graduate and retired distributor for Thomas Muffins and Arnold Bread, Secreto was the board’s liaison for local sports, focusing on youth programs.
