Queens man in Saugerties catches 4 felony drug charges, 3 misdemeanors

A single-vehicle crash in the town of Wawarsing on Saturday night resulted in the death of an Ellenville woman, according to state police.

Authorities reported that the incident occurred on Jan. 18, at approximately 10:55 p.m. on Otens Road. A 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe, traveling eastbound, left the roadway and collided with a tree due to adverse weather conditions.

The driver, identified as 56-year-old Tammy Hyatt of Ellenville, NY, was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Emergency responders extricated her from the SUV, and troopers attempted life-saving measures. However, Hyatt was pronounced deceased at the scene.

State police have urged anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward with information. Witnesses can contact the State Police Highland barracks at (845) 691-2922 and reference case number NY2500048941.
