Put pen to paper for a purpose at the annual Global Write for Rights Letter-Writing Event, hosted by Amnesty International USA Mid-Hudson. Taking place both in person at the Elting Library in New Paltz and virtually on Zoom, this gathering invites participants to advocate for justice and human rights by writing letters on behalf of ten cases worldwide. Highlights include calls to release Indigenous Elder Leonard Peltier, imprisoned for nearly 50 years, and demands for justice for Joel Paredes of Argentina, injured during a peaceful protest against lithium extraction.
