“A clementine orange sunrise greeted our groomers this morning, as they finalized a crisp machine groomed packed powder surface on nine open trails today!”
Someone at the state-owned Belleayre Mountain ski area off Route 28 near the Ulster-Delaware counties line waxed poetic this 21-degree Saturday morning. It had snowed six inches more on Thanksgiving Day. On the last day of November, there are almost two feet of accumulated white stuff on the mountain.
For a ski center, snow on Thanksgiving is a promising augury of a busy winter. No more snow is forecast until next weekend.
