Scott Landry, a veteran educator with more than three decades of experience in education, leadership and financial services, has been appointed as principal of the Career Pathways Programs at the Ulster BOCES Career & Technical Center in Port Ewen. Landry, who assumed his new post in September 2024, will lead the high-tech, hands-on, innovative career training programs, which are designed to prepare young professionals for successful futures through project-based learning and internship opportunities in their fields of interest.

“Scott brings an infectious passion for education and leadership to the Career Pathways Programs,” said district superintendent Dr. Jonah M. Schenker. “It’s an exciting time for Ulster BOCES as we continue to reimagine what a successful education looks like in New York State, and Scott’s enthusiasm will help our young professionals to follow their passions and achieve success.”

Landry has an extensive background in school administration, having served as principal of Bethlehem Central High School, where he oversaw more than 200 personnel and played a key role in enhancing student outcomes, including increasing the graduation rate and introducing new STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and business programs.

“Career and technical education is one of the most exciting and impactful areas in modern education,” said Landry. “I’m thrilled to be part of the team at Ulster BOCES, where I see tremendous potential for both students and the community. I’ve been hearing great things about the Career Pathways Programs, and I wanted to be part of this transformative work that combines education with real-world skills.”
