Jazz things up as the Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra celebrates the centennial of “Rhapsody in Blue”. Conductor Kathleen Beckmann will lead the orchestra in a tribute to George Gershwin’s groundbreaking fusion of classical music and jazz, a piece that dazzled audiences and divided critics when it first premiered 100 years ago. Internationally acclaimed pianist Paul Bisaccia, known for his PBS special Gershwin by Bisaccia, will bring his expertise to the keys, reviving the iconic notes of Gershwin’s masterpiece.
