Stuart Harper Bragg, 67, of New York, NY and formerly of Saugerties, NY died Friday, November 10, 2023 at The Mt. Sinai Hospital in NYC. Born November 9, 1956 in Charlottesville, VA, he was the son of the late John H. and Irma “Vonnie” Bragg.
As a child, Stuart lived in Arvonia, Va, and resided in Saugerties, NY after 1963. A graduate of Ulster Academy Class of 1975, he attended Ulster County Community College and The School of Visual Arts in NYC. Stuart worked for many years in the Commercial Art and Advertising Business as a Graphic Designer, and Group Art Supervisor. He was a member of and attended the Saugerties Reformed Church throughout his life. First and foremost, Stuart was a dedicated father and family man. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading, cooking, and photography. Most recently, Stuart had developed a passion for photographing hawks, falcons, and other birds.
Stuart loved Saugerties, the Hudson River, the Catskill Mountains, all things New York City, Swedish Culture, and his friends and neighbors.
Predeceased by his sister, Amy Bragg, a niece, Claire Flood, and his best friend and former wife, Tina Bragg (formerly Hagson). Survivors include three children: Emily Bragg, Oliver Bragg, and John Bragg. A brother, Peter Bragg, and one niece, Alice Flood, also survive. A Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life will be held for Stuart in Spring 2024 – date and time to be determined.
