Lucia Gannett

Lucia France Gannett, 82, of Manorville Rd. died on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Health Alliance Hospital, Mary’s Ave., Kingston.

Born August 21, 1940 in Flushing she was the daughter of the late Taylor Gannett and Margaret Thompson. Lucia was a beloved resident in the area since 1973. She was a gifted artist, weaver and teacher. She owned and operated a weaving store, Fiber Arts in Woodstock, for years, and was celebrated as a key figure in the weaving community for many years and this continues on. Her natural elegance, beauty and gentle heart was unforgettable. Lucia’s sweet, bright light shone easily on all she came in contact with, yet she was a fierce fighter and advocate of rights for all of humanity, kindness, decency and truth. This made for a powerful and loving mother and grandmother who will be terribly missed and always cherished.

May she rest in peace and ease.

Survivors include a son, Eric Jordan and granddaughter Dillyn Jordan of Saugerties; daughter, Meaghan Gannett and grandsons Jonah and Marley Zeller of Portland, OR.
