The Town of Saugerties Planning Board set a public hearing for its next meeting on a proposed three-lot subdivision at 159 Band Camp Road. Abe and Nicole Friedman’s map shows one three-plus acre parcel and two smaller parcels. Planning consultant Max Stach questioned the lack of contour lines to indicate the steeply sloping areas of the property. The board had also suggested that wetlands be shown, but the Friedmans’ representative, Don Brewer, said no wetlands are shown on state or federal maps, and the board agreed that the property owners would not be required to have an expert walk the property to see if any wetlands could be identified. However, board member Carole Furman asked that a note be added to the plan indicating what sources had be checked and that they showed no wetlands. Brewer asked that the board waive a requirement that contour lines be provided to show elevations. The board voted to require the contours. The proposed subdivision should also be reviewed by the state Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), the Ulster County Department of Health for a well and septic system review and the state Historic Preservation Office (SHPO). The required information could be added to the plan by the next meeting on Tuesday, January 18, The board voted to hold a public hearing at that meeting, which begins at 7:30 p. m.
