The HITS-on-the-Hudson Summer Series gets underway this week, with competition serving as more than just a preamble to the $500,000 HITS Saugerties Grand Prix in September.
The three-week Summer Series runs from Wednesday, July 21 through Sunday, August 8 and will feature Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) and Concours de Saut International (CSI) competition presented by Alliant Private Client. Following up on the four-week Spring Series, weeks five and six will see HITS Saugerties host a $25,000 United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) International Hunter Derby, including the USHJA Jumper Team and Platinum Championship in week five and the USHJA Hunter Team Challenge — East and World Championship Hunter Rider Week in week six.
Competition takes place weekly from Wednesday through Sunday from 8 a.m. through approximately 4 p.m., with the Grand Prix on Sundays at around 2 p.m. Admission is free Wednesday-Saturday, with a $5 admission fee on Sundays benefitting Family of Woodstock.
