The Town of Woodstock now charges $5 for all-day parking in the Rock City Road parking lot from Memorial Day to Labor Day. During last week’s meeting, McKenna proposed raising it to $10. He said it brings in about $50,000-$60,000 for the season.
Woodstock residents can obtain a window sticker from the town clerk’s office exempting them from the fee.
McKenna suggested having residents with the window stickers park at the nearby Mountain View parking lot across the street from the Colony Cafe. That would free up paid parking spaces at the Rock City Road lot and generate more revenue.
“It’s something to consider,” McKenna said.
“It benefits the taxpayers to maximize the profit for that lot.”
