New Paltz town government cannot predict whether Moriello Pool will open for the Memorial Day weekend late or at all. However, the town is preparing to have the pool ready to go whenever precautions are lifted. All the equipment needs to be in order, staffing in place, and health permits issued by Ulster County upon the decision of New York State. The town does not know what decisions will be made on those levels.
Although it is a worst-case scenario, residents need to be aware that Moriello Pool may not open at all this summer. The town government will keep the public informed as it receives updates or changes.
