The New Paltz Repair Café will mark its fourth anniversary on Saturday, May 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the New Paltz United Methodist Church, located at the corner of Main and Grove streets.
Repair Café is a free community meeting place to bring a “beloved but broken” item to be repaired by an expert. The people who do the repairs have significant skills in a wide range of categories including mechanical, electrical and electronic, clothing and textiles, jewelry, things made of wood, digital and dolls and stuffed animals. The May 20 Repair Café will include two new services and activities: Vince Murray will bring his welding truck and offer metal welding, and Samual Beal and Matt Vercelletto will be building solar cell phone chargers at a work table on the church lawn and explaining the process as they build.
The event is free, but when you bring an item for repair, please bring also a food item for Family of New Paltz.
