A winter storm watch was issued this afternoon by the National Weather Service for late Wednesday night into early Thursday afternoon. Seven-plus inches of snow could fall in Ulster and Dutchess counties, with snow and ice-covered roadways making the morning commute potentially treacherous and winds of 5 to 15 mph.
According to Hudson Valley Weather, the storm is coming from the south and some models predict the heavier totals will fall in the lower part of the Hudson Valley, but the entire region is in for a “significant” snow event in any case – ranging from 3-6″ in northwestern Ulster County to 6-12″ in the vicinity of Peekskill, and 4-8″ for areas in between.
