If the Catskill Mountains had a soundtrack, it would surely contain a cut from the new Mammals double-album, Touch Grass Vol. 1 & 2. Long a cornerstone of our area’s Americana revival, Mike Merenda and Ruth Ungar (daughter of folk legend Jay Ungar) are still at it, pairing progressive lyrics with old-time instrumentation in a sound that’s equal parts protest and porch jam.
