The annual Elting Memorial Library Fair will kick off on Saturday, September 27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and they’ll do it all over again on Sunday, September 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the library parking lot right in the heart of New Paltz! Best of all, entry is free.
If you want to get your hands on some great books early, stop by on Saturday at 8 a.m. for $10. Here’s what you can look forward to this year: Tons of books in all sorts of categories, plus LPs, audiobooks, CDs and DVDs; children’s books, toys and fun activities; a silent auction and a raffle with prizes from local businesses, including gift certificates, local art and a grand prize of a mid-week stay for two at Mohonk Mountain House; a fantastic selection of jewelry, including some estate pieces; live music all day with a great lineup of local talent, including Jim Bacon, Steve Raleigh, Grateful Dave, the Dandy Lions, Berry Jam and Stephen Bergstein; food from local favorites like Jack’s Meats, Starbucks, Stewart’s, Tops, ShopRite and Jenkins-Lueken Orchards.
This year, the library will be taking part in Ulster County’s ‘Green the Scene’ zero-waste initiative. They want the fair to be eco-friendly, so they’ll have a zero-waste station and will be using responsible waste disposal and eco-friendly materials.
