On the afternoon of Sep. 22, police said a call was made to Ulster County 911 by a woman reporting a possible threat involving Cahill Elementary School. She alleged that her former partner intended to go to the school to harm her children. Authorities were immediately dispatched to investigate.
Saugerties Police recognized the woman as someone they had been assisting earlier that day for mental health concerns. At the time of the call, she was not in the Saugerties area. Officers responded quickly, determined there was no credible threat to the school, and located the woman shortly thereafter. She was interviewed and subsequently taken for a mental health evaluation.
