Town of Lloyd police report six recent arrests

Lloyd Police locate missing 65-year-old woman in Highland

The Town of Lloyd Police have announced several recent arrests involving separate incidents:

Gerson Payes, 31, of Highland, was taken into custody on July 9 following a domestic dispute. He faces felony charges including second-degree strangulation, third-degree criminal mischief, third-degree coercion, and a misdemeanor charge of third-degree assault. Payes was arraigned and remanded to the Ulster County Jail with bail set at $10,000. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Lloyd Court on July 14, 2025.

Michael McNair, 32, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested on July 10 and charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, as well as second-degree menacing. Authorities allege he threatened another individual with a knife. McNair was released on an appearance ticket and is expected in court on July 24, 2025.

Joseph M. Plew, 22, of Wallkill, was arrested on July 10 for petit larceny. He is accused of making approximately $356 in unauthorized purchases at a store where he was employed. Plew was released on an appearance ticket and is due back in court on July 24, 2025.

James G. Trotman, 37, of Highland, was arrested on July 12 and charged with third-degree criminal mischief. He is accused of damaging a cell phone belonging to another individual during a domestic dispute. Trotman was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in court on July 22, 2025.

James M. Colbert, 30, also of Highland, was taken into custody on July 8 and charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief. He is accused of causing damage to someone else’s property. Colbert was released on an appearance ticket and is expected in court on July 22, 2025.

Ronald Ackert, 47, of Highland, was arrested on July 13 in connection with a domestic dispute. He has been charged with second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Authorities allege he threatened another person with a knife. Ackert was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in court on July 24, 2025.
