An unidentified 74-year old Lloyd resident died at the scene of a serious car accident in New Paltz on Tuesday, according to police.
At approximately 1pm, the elderly driver of a 2004 Honda CRV initiated a left turn from Rt. 32 onto Clearwater Road, but failed to yield right of way to an unidentified 32-year-old Gardiner resident driving a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado northbound on Rt. 32.
The 32-year-old was treated at the scene for minor injuries. Police did not issue any tickets, but the incident is still under investigation. As such, they welcome any witnesses to contact detectives at (845) 255-1357.
The fatal accident drew a multi-agency response including New Paltz Fire Department, Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, New Paltz Rescue Squad, Ulster County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Ulster County Crash Reconstruction Team.
