Living history event comes to New Paltz this weekend

Held on Historic Huguenot Street, this immersive experience brings together Lenape Delaware, Black, and European living historians to portray life in mid-17th century New Netherland through hands-on demonstrations, storytelling, and cultural performances. Visitors can expect open-fire cooking, flintknapping, wool spinning, martial arts displays, a Dutch folktale raree show, and more. Highlights include stomp dance demos with Lenape Delaware tribal members and presentations from the Inalienable Rights group, shedding light on the lives of the colony’s first enslaved people.
