State troopers in Ellenville say a June 10th car accident on Rt. 52 in Shawangunk claimed the life of Pine Bush resident Bernard A. Pohl, age 86.
The collision occurred at approximately 12:44pm Tuesday. Police say Pohl’s 2019 Honda was “traveling eastbound on Route 52 at a high rate of speed when it crossed the double yellow line, exited the roadway onto the north shoulder, struck a utility pole, and overturned multiple times before ultimately coming to rest after striking a tree.”
Pohl succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The Shawangunk Police Department assisted state police, and the investigation is ongoing.
