The Local is the hottest venue in Saugerties. Show-goers will be excited to hear they’ve extended their spring 2025 season with additional performances, and announced a summer collaboration with Opus 40, one of Saugerties’s other main attractions.
The move comes after a series of successful winter and spring events that featured a wide range of international and regional artists across diverse musical genres.
The newly added shows run through early June, continuing the venue’s eclectic approach to programming. Performances will include folk, jazz, and international fusion acts, contributing to what has been a consistently sold-out season. This spring also marks the debut of The Local’s new bar service, offering wine, beer, sake, and snacks from local vendors.
Due to its lack of air conditioning, the venue typically pauses programming in the summer. This year, however, it will shift operations outdoors by co-curating a summer concert series at Opus 40, where longtime local show promoters Chosen Family previously held court. The summer lineup will feature artists from across the globe, including performers rooted in cumbia, reggae, Afro-psychedelic funk, and avant-garde rock, alongside events such as silent discos and a full-day celebration of Hudson Valley musicians.
