Kingston police reported the arrest of Orion McLeod (aka ‘Odie Ector’) and Saugerties resident Vincent Girard on a wide variety of felonies and misdemeanors.
On the evening of April 7, around 6pm, police in Kingston responded to a report of an attempted break-in at an occupied home on Clinton Avenue. When officers arrived at the scene, they saw a vehicle being driven in reverse in a hazardous manner. The driver, identified as Ector, and a passenger, Girard, were attempting to flee the area. During the attempt, the vehicle collided with a parked car, resulting in property damage.
Following the crash, Ector tried to escape on foot but was quickly taken into custody. Authorities later confirmed that his driving privileges in New York State had been both suspended and revoked. A subsequent search revealed that both individuals were in possession of illegal drugs. In addition, Ector was accused of damaging the property he had allegedly tried to enter.
Ector sustained minor injuries and received treatment at HealthAlliance Hospital before being released. Both suspects were processed by the Kingston Police Department and held overnight.
