A Kingston man has been arrested on charges related to child sexual exploitation following an investigation by the State Police Troop F Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI). Authorities took Christopher A. Thomas, 37, into custody on March 31, 2025, accusing him of possessing illicit material involving a minor.
Thomas faces a Class E felony charge for Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child Less than 16. The case originated in June 2024 when the State Police received a “cybertip” from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). This tip prompted law enforcement to secure a search warrant for Thomas’ Kingston residence, which was executed in December 2024. Investigators allege that he possessed and had access to images and videos indicative of child sexual exploitation.
The arrest was the result of a collaborative effort between multiple agencies, including the Troop F Computer Crimes Unit, the State Police Troop F BCI in Kingston, the NCMEC, and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Following his arrest, Thomas was released on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear before the Ulster Town Court on April 16, 2025, at 1:30 p.m.
