Justice has been served after a shocking Ellenville home invasion which left a man shot in the arm in a house with four other occupants, including young children.
In March 2024, Ellenville residents Luis Gonzalez Lopez, 31; Shaquon McGinnis, 27; and Nathaniel Negron, 29, entered the Canal Lock Apartments complex on Center Street, masked up and armed with a loaded firearm and a knife. Upon knocking and forcing entry into a unit, they shot an adult male in the arm before fleeing the scene. The victim was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center, received treatment, and was released.
All three defendants pleaded guilty to burglary charges. Negron received a 10-year prison sentence, McGinnis was sentenced to 8 years, and Lopez received a 6-year term, each accompanied by 5 years of post-release supervision. Authorities indicated that the suspects and the victim were acquainted, suggesting the incident was targeted. However, specific motives have not been disclosed.
